Working in all aspects of voiceover is what we do. Our day to day consists of recording TV, Radio, and web advertising, in addition to the many narration, interactive, animation, IVR, and ADR projects we regularly work on. Our studio is equipped with ISDN (Telos and APT, and remote sync) , Source-Connect, phone patch, skype to accommodate any type of session. All of our booths are equipped with video for ADR or for referencing on-screen material. Get in touch and see how we can help you.
If any of this is new then read below for full descriptions of what some of this all means. We are friendly to new clients finding their way with a project and are happy to guide you through the best that we can.
A phone patch is when you call into the studio on a regular telephone and we "patch" you in to the recording session. You are able to hear and direct the voice actor while we record it. Do you need multiple people to call in and direct? Just let us know and we will set it all up. Files can be organized, named, and delivered to your specifications. Not sure what those are? Our engineers will ask a few questions to determine what that might be and use their years of experience to organize and deliver the files per your needs. When everything is done we send you the files in whatever format and method you require. An emailed link to most common, but with many options available today we can do what is easiest for you.
If you are based in Los Angeles or will be here for your project we have three studios to accommodate clients coming to interact with the actors in person. We have a kitchen stocked with snacks, coffee, tea, and water. Plus there are 2 restaurants and a coffee shop in our building as well as many other options within a 5 minute walk. And don't forget the free covered parking.
Our Studio "A" has room for up to 3 or 4 actors in the booth and space for 6 to 8 clients plus one of our engineers. Studio "B" is able to hold 1 or 2 actors in the booth and 2 clients plus an engineer. Studio "C" can hold up to 3 actors in the booth and 1 client plus the engineer.
ISDN and Source-Connect
ISDN is essentially a special high quality telephone line used in radio broadcasts, voiceover, and other occasions when high quality is required between two distant places. An actor is hired and comes to our studio, we then connect to another ISDN equipped studio somewhere else in the world and the actor is recorded at that remote location as if they were there. Source-Connect is essentially the same, but uses the internet to transmit the audio. Audio Engineers prefer ISDN because of it's reliability and years of using it, but it comes at a cost. Source-Connect can be as reliable, but many people are still unfamiliar with it's quirks. However, the overall cost to use source-connect is much lower.
We have 2 Telos Zephyr boxes and 1 APT compatible unit.
In addition to our recording services we are a SAG -AFTRA union signatory. We are able to process payments for radio and tv, games, toys, narration and other projects. Some restrictions apply, so please contact us with questions about your project. If you are new to using union actors or considering this for your next project feel free to get in touch and we can explain the process to you
